We can’t wait to share what we have been working on but the biggest challenge that still impacts the whole bike industry is supply. This has given us the opportunity to improve our current models and to start some mega exciting new projects. We’ve made great progress though, we’ve started new relationships with some great factories and are really excited about the new bikes we are working on. This has been a difficult journey, as this is probably the worst time in the history of bicycle design to try to create new models and open new factories. This meant with all lead times in the bike industry rocketing, we were forced to find new factories and begin the redevelopment of the majority of our bikes. Having placed large bike orders with our suppliers, our main factory subsequently cancelled all of our orders and focused their attention on their in house brands. Calibre are not alone in having let down thousands of customers over the last 12 months who wanted new bikes.Īlthough we have faced some bigger challenges than most… Looking ahead to 2024 we’re aiming to be fully re-established and stronger than ever with the complete range and rider support to match.įrom the start of the pandemic, with bike demand higher than ever, the industry has been pushed to its limit, from raw material supply, to frame manufacture, component availability, shipping and delivery to customers. It’s taken years to get to the first prototype stage and months of testing to refine these but we’re getting closer to finalising them now.

In terms of other things to look forward to with Calibre we’ve got the Line bikes due in soon and we’re deep into testing of the new full suspension bikes. Next up is a complete replacement mech hanger catalog, Sentry rear ends are still looking like 2024. Thank you for your patience on this, we know we keep saying we’re working on expanding the spares catalog but hopefully you can see we’re still dedicated to this and will continue to get more parts online as they become available.

If you own an older bike with a QR rear end, you can still use this chainstay but will need to upgrade your rear hub and axle to the 142x12mm standard. These will fit all sizes of 27.5” thru-axle bikes manufactured between 20 (Bossnut, Triple B, Shadownut). Granted, it’s not perfect, but it’s about as close as you’ll find for the cash.We’re aware of the demand for spare parts and, although it’s taken longer than we’d have liked, we now have Bossnut chainstays and seatstays available. Out on the trail the Bossnut left us wondering whether, for the money, any other bikes can even compete. The kit on this bike is amazingly sorted for the cash, and the places where Calibre has saved money will give you a clear path to upgrade this into an even better machine. There are also WTB branded rims and tyres. The 130mm travel is damped by a RockShox Monarch R air-spring rear shock that’s paired with a 130mm travel RockShox Recon RL fork.Įlsewhere you get SRAM’s 12-speed SX Eagle drivetrain and SRAM Level T brakes. The size large has 460mm reach, a 66-degree head angle (1-degree slacker than the outgoing bike) and a 74.5-degree seat tube angle. The geometry is on the money for a trail bike, too. The 2020 version of the Bossnut has 130mm of travel, two bottle cage bosses under the down tube, external cable routing and a port for an internally-hosed dropper post on the seat tube.
Okay, so this bike is technically £105 over budget (after you’ve bought the discount card from GO Outdoors) but it’s such an incredible bike for the money you’d be crazy for not trying to stretch that little further beyond the £1,000 budget to get your hands on it. Still the best full-suspension bike for £1,100 (£1,500 without a Go Outdoors card, which is £5) A sorted trail bike straight out of the box
